I' ve always loved "Captain Ron" and all of his movies! Here's an excerpt from an article (about Goldie Hawn) in the December DELL Horoscope mag:

Remember--every time Goldie's latched onto a man, Saturn has hit her Mars, so she was learning life lessons about men as a result of her relationships and also learning about her own personal power base. I'm sure it's not by coincidence that when she finally partnered with Russell, she chose not to make it legal, although now they wear what she calls their "common law" bands instead of wedding ring!

Russell is a Pisces with the Sun conjunct Jupiter and Saturn opposing. He would have optimism and confidence, but also insecurity and a need to prove himself. In other words, he'd be swimming upstream against a few odds, but still willing to do so. Both the Sun and Jupiter trine Goldie's Sun, and Saturn sextiles it, making for a contact that feels comfortable and long-standing.

His Moon is in tenderhearted Cancer, and nobody understands a water sign better than another water sign. Together, his Sun-Jupiter and Moon make a grand trine with her Sun, which actually is a kite out through his Saturn. Together they have life lessons to learn. This theme is repeated by her Saturn right on his Moon, but perhaps they relate to it as Goldie being the more experienced, older partner, which she is.

His Moon is squared by Venus in assertive Aries. Although Venus and Mars are not conjoined, both lie in Aries, both are opposed by Neptune, and both make a T-square through the Moon. He's a dreamer who believes in true love. His energy is interesting, isn't it? There are a lot of mood swings, you might say. On one hand he's sensitive and emotional (water), also insecure and hesitant (Saturn and Neptune's oppositions), but a little wild and dynamic (Aries, Cardinal).

More important than any cross-contacts among their planets is this sense of simpatico, this mutual resonance. They both have that emotional yet wild/determined side and so they probably recognize that in each other and knokw how to handle it. When we see reflected back to ourselves in a lover traits we also possess, either we get annoyed, we decide to change, or we embrace and accept ourselves--and the lover--even more strongly. Apparently this is what's happened. Goldie has managed to maintain the union while fulfilling herself personally, professionally, and spiritually.
